Description
You attempt to counteract a spell effect or disable a magical item by flooding it with nullifying void energy.
Mechanics
- Range: 120 feet
- Target: 1 spell effect, or 1 magic item
Effects
- You make a counteract check against the target effect or item.
- The DC is typically the spell DC of the effect’s originator or a standard DC based on the item’s level.
- Counteracting Spell Effects: If successful, the spell effect ends.
- Targeting Magic Items:
- Critical Success: You suppress the item’s magic until the end of the next encounter. (If cast outside of an encounter, suppress for 1 hour).
- Success: You suppress the item’s magic until the end of the current encounter. (If cast outside of an encounter, suppress for 10 minutes).
- Failure: You fail to counteract the item’s magic.
- Critical Failure: You fail, and cannot attempt to dispel that specific item again during this one-shot.
